good video. What if, my power will be 4 types? 3.3V, 4V, 5V, 12V The 12V will be spited into 3.3V, 4V and 5V, of which 12V will also be used to power components for several relay switches. Would it be good to use 6 layers? 1) path and power supply 3.3V, 4V 2) grounding 3) 5V path and power supply 4) grounding 5) 12V path and power supply 6) grounding

An Arduino is wonderful for remote sensor applications that either don't need a data connection or are able to connect in other ways. They're great for repetitive tasks that don't require much processing overhead. ESP32 is enough to run an entire mac classic emulator with CPU to spare. It's overkill for many applications. It's nice, though, if you need the power, or just don't care about power utilization or code optimization.

i just encountered a new problem with battery powered designs. when the battery is first inserted, the battery holder springs create a series of loose contact phenomenon (similar to a switch debounce). The protection IC doesn't immediately see the battery voltage at its full value but a sequence of pulsating values instead. The battery protection IC interprets this as an over-discharged situation and therefore disconnects the battery from the rest of the circuit. i just added a larger cap on the protection chip to delay its startup just enough for the battery voltage to stabilize

JFTR: BMC controllers are really controlling fans, and other stuff on a server, but those are actually independent computers on the PCB. They boot up to a vendor-specific code, and you can connect it (via IPMI, browser, redfish, ssh, etc) and do server maintenance (power on/off, sending reset, open up a virtual KVM console, mount ISO images, etc) About the colors: if you check a standard PC power supply, the yellow will be +12, the red is +5, the orange is 3,3, and the green one is which powers up the PSU itself (if you connect it to ground)

This is great advice. It happened that we made mistakes because there was not enough free space on the board for silk-screen printing, and the draftsman created the assembly drawing based on the STEP model and silkscreen layer, and could make a mistake by attributing the designator to the wrong outline of the component.

There are legitimate downsides to the ESP32 not mentioned. It's terribly inaccurate for analog read (especially when WiFi/Bluetooth is running), draws 3-10 times the power than other modern microcontrollers, its PWM is software emulated so it's unusable if you need precise and accurate PWM. Just some things to be careful about because some of these are dealbreakers for some projects.

Good video and nice presentation with demos. I recommend Arthur Kay's book about Op Amp Noise for practical engineers. However, I think we miss a very important part of op amp topic, which is the modeling of the op amp. Think about modeling of the noise sources, CMRR, PSRR, slew rate, input impedance, and output impedance.

Everything thing about op-amps is mathematics related, its invention by design was for a analog computers part #741, so the first topic out the door is DC again and DC feedback, advance topics are AC parameters this is where we enter the upside down world TYPE-1,2 and 3 compensators and beyond.

Thanks a lot for your superb content ! A relatively "consumerish" question ... Since a battery is specified in terms of its charge / discharge cycles, suppose we keep the appliance (eg. laptop) powered continuously by the charger, would it prolong the battery life. I assume that a laptop would draw power from the charger and not from the battery, hence seldom discharging the battery.
